What do the Amish do to save women from being battered?

I have seen Amish men being abusive and battering their women. It was in public but they did not know that they were being scoped out. When they saw me, they stopped. They had been yelling at this woman. They had really mean scowls on their faces, they were leaning in on this one woman and shouting at her. It was really creepy. I gave them a dirty look and walked right by them. They were in a parked car. The woman was really thin, maybe 100 pounds. She was in the back seat and there were Amish men on both sides of her. There was an Amish guy in the front penger seat as well. The driver had gone into the store. She looked scared and then she had her head in her hands and was crying. What I want to know is how could they do this to this woman, and what would anybody do about it?
