Which Liquid Foundation?

I was thinking of getting the make-up forever HD liquid foundation but then I read somewhere it only looks good on camera and in person it looks cakey and gross. What is your experience with this brand? What else do you recommend that is similar with a better quality? I was thinking maybe Laura Mercier. I would like to spend no more than $40 and I have very light, dry, sensitive skin.
