Ball python help!!? would there be a problem with putting feeder fish in the pythons water bowl?

also does it matter which side is heated? for example one side has his water bowl the other has his hideout can i heat either side? can i change where the heat is? does it need light 24 hours a day? i purchased a nocturnal light for him but do i need to keep it on?
